The Becoming One Community Enrichment and Diversity Center is pleased to announce the Second Annual Becoming One Awards Ceremony and Banquet on Saturday, July 27th at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center.  Last year’s inaugural awards launched a celebration of community support and respect for Becoming One’s mission to foster diversity and respect for all our citizens in Siler City, North Carolina and around the world.

“We are here to serve all our neighbors in Siler City and to celebrate the great work that is being done by our citizens to strengthen our community,” explained Rev. Dr. Albert Reddick, Co-founder of the Becoming One charity.  “With so much dissension and division in our nation, there are still tremendous efforts being made by individuals and groups to find common ground and a shared vision of what our future holds for us.  This banquet will celebrate the lasting work being done here in Siler City, with the hope of a positive rippling effect improving attitudes and action toward diversity moving forward,” Reddick shared.

Last year’s honorees included Siler City residents who affect our community in a wide-range of ways.  From a barber, to a teacher, to a pet groomer, to an advocate for low income residents, the Becoming One Center recognizes, and will recognize, the various community leaders who make our world better around us.  This year’s awardees will be feted with a recognition of their work and a celebration of their leadership.  Additionally, in a separate category, a small number of high school students will receive a Becoming One Community Center scholarship for their essays describing the importance of diversity in their lives and in the community.  A keynote speaker will also highlight the evening in July.
